Taking inspiration from Arts & Crafts, Prairie style, and Art Deco, this whole house renovation and addition brought together the clients’ dream home in a dream location with the design styles they have collected for decades. The remodel entailed a complete transformation of the main level, including a new kitchen with built-in breakfast banquette and living and dining rooms encased in craftsman oak woodwork beautifully executed by ThinkMakeBuild and J. Miles Construction. Abundant natural light is brought in through banks of windows at the rear of the addition, with the alley clutter tastefully screened by custom stained glass commissioned by the owners and created by Decorative Glass Solutions. A secret office at the top level evokes the grandeur of a cruise liner lounge from the Roaring 20's.
