KINGMAN PLACE ROWHOUSE, WASHINGTON, DC

Completed in 2015

This complete renovation of a small row house located in the historic Logan Circle neighborhood. We worked with the Historic Preservation review officials to get the design approved. Behind its preserved historic street facade, this project provided us with a clean slate to explore and refine various design options with the clients.

We extended the structure by 12 feet, in-filled the light courts, and underpinned the basement to create higher ceilings, effectively doubling the area of the previous structure. On the main floor, the addition has a Pedini-designed kitchen, that blends seamlessly with the new wood back deck through expansive Nanawall doors. The second floor's layout is designed to be open while allowing flexibility in privacy.
