JHA worked with Joe and Hilary Wilson to design an addition for their home on Yorktown Blvd. in Arlington. The design focused on creating a strong connection into their beautiful landscaped rear yard by creating an addition contains a family room open to the kitchen, the large screened porch, and the rear yard. A step down from the main level allowed for 9-foot ceilings in the family room and screen porch. The upper level of the addition includes a large primary suite and a private roof deck. The addition is a modern style that contrasts with the existing home, while keeping a cohesion with it by painting the new siding to match the darker color in the existing home's brick.
